Additional Tip

(And remember don’t use all of these in the same conversation, use the ones you like the most).

“What do you think Conversations and Icebreakers volume 1” by Kobrinica Press she has written many types of amazing quality questions you can ask in all types of situations but let me mention three i really enjoyed and I’m actually using now:

  1. if you could have chosen your name as a child, what would it have been?

2.  If you could be invisible for one consecutive 24 hour period beginning at 12:00 am, what would you do?

3. Out of desperation your forced to use a dirty, grimy and disgusting public restroom. Just after you finish urinating you accidentally dropped a $20 dollar bill in the toilet. Do you retrieve it after the bill has been submerged?

Sarah Lipoff wrote an irresistible article that everyone should checkout on pop sugar called “40 Conversation Starters That Make Mingling Fun” and a couple that you should definitely use as soon as possible are:

4. What’s your favorite movie?

Sarah Lipoff mentions that “You can find out a lot about a person when you chat about a favorite movie. Follow it up with specific questions, such as scene stealers and actors in the flick. But if you are daring and want to change it up you can also ask the same question but instead say “What is that one movie you love so much that you cannot stop watching and that you would recommend me?”

5. What movie are you dying to see?

Another follow up question to ask after asking: Whats your favorite movie? This question will involve everyone and will even  get a group chatting over new releases.

6. Tell me about something that made you laugh this week.

This one is particularly not a question but everyone loves a good laugh! Asking about something that brought on a chuckle makes anyone smile and when you begin to use this particular line and you get fantastic results give all the credit to Sarah Lipoff!

7. If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could have only one item, what would it be?

Yes, we have all heard this one before! It’s a classic one-liner but this convo starter always gets people conversing and sometimes even playful debating about why certain things are would be more appropriate than others in that type of deserted island situation. Honestly I would bring a helicopter so i could go back home!

Other fun lines to use:

8. What are the three most interesting things about you that I probably don’t know?

Easy question to just throw in the conversation and actually get the other person talking about themselves. People love talking about themselves and all you got to do is listen and that conversation will not fall flat.

9. Are you a morning or night person and why?

Another fun line!

10. What do you love to do or what are your passions?

Another easy question to just throw in the conversation and actually get the other person talking about themselves.

What is your absolute dream job?

What is the first thing you notice in a guy/girl?

If you won ten million dollars what would you do with the money?

What is the best place you have ever traveled to and why?

What’s the best advice you ever received?

What’s the craziest thing you have ever done?

What has been the boldest thing you have ever done?

And my question to you guys is what did you guys think about this article? Please leave a comment. Thank you.

  1. I’ve always had some trouble keeping conversations flowing, especially if I don’t know the person that well, but I seriously hate slipping into that awkward silence when you can tell that both people are desperately thinking of something to say, but both end up saying nothing in the end… And the weight of the silence just keeps continuing to grow and grow and grow. Kind of a thing of nightmares for me because I only have one person I’m good at keeping the flow with and that’s because she is my best friend. So, I’m definitely going to make use of some of these. I love 4, 7 and 9 as general questions to ask and 14 is a bit wacky, but it’s actually quite the interesting question. Now I’m sitting here thinking about what I would actually do if I was invisible for a whole day… Love the suggestions and I’ve actually bookmarked this post for future reference, and for if I ever decide that I want to play a game of 21 Questions with anyone!
